Teen Filmmakers Lab: Analog Horror
Are you a fan of Analog Horror? Teen Filmmakers will learn how to use simple recording devices and editing software to create their own Analog Horror film! While we’re encouraging our filmmakers to lean into the creepy and surreal, remember that if you want to showcase said films at the library they must be appropriate for the Teen Room. Teens may work solo or in a group, and will be allowed to use their own devices if they’d like to continue working on their projects at home.
Teen Filmmakers Lab (These are dedicated days to using the library to meet and work on films!): Monday, October 19th and 26th from 4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
Teen Filmmakers Showing (Filmmakers get to show off their projects!): Saturday, October 31st from 12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m.
Filmmaking Guidelines (for the Teen Room):
- Video must be no longer than 5-minutes in length.
- Keep it age-appropriate for the Teen Room (PG-13), when in doubt, ask the Teen Librarian!
- Use respectful language: Avoid hate speech, profanity, bullying, or harassment in any recorded media.
- Protect privacy: Do not film, photograph, or record other library patrons or staff without their explicit permission.
- Respect Copyright: Use royalty-free music, stock footage, or original creations rather than copyrighted commercial material in published works.
- Credit collaborators: List all teen contributors and library resources used in the final production credits.
For teens in 6th-12th grade!
