The Waupaca Public Library is excited to host The Illustrations of Jarrett J. Krosoczka!

Stop in to see artwork from your favorite Krosoczka books-Hey, Kiddo, Platypus Police Squad, Punk Farm, Jedi Academyand the Lunch Lady series, or make your own Krosozka-inspired art! 

In conjunction with the exhibit, the library will host a panel discussion on Monday, January 28, 6pm in the lower level meeting rooms to address mental health and addiction concerns. The panel, including mental health, medical, educational and judicial professionals, will highlight issues, resources and the progress that’s been made on mental health and addiction in Waupaca.

Jarrett will visit Waupaca on Monday, February 4th, and give a public presentation in the lower level meeting rooms of his book Hey, Kiddo, with a book signing to follow.

The Illustrations of Jarrett J. Krosoczka is located in the Lower Exhibit Room at the Waupaca Public Library. The exhibit is free to the public and open during regular library hours.

Youth Art Workshop

Thursday, February 21, 2019 - 4:00pm

Join us in meeting room B on Thursday February 21st from 4-6pm for a youth art workshop with WLC art instructor Matt Lawniczak. Learn about Jarrett J. Krosozcka's work and create your own graphic illustrations! This is a free class for kids in kindergarten-12th grade and is limited to 20 participants.  A light snack and all art materials will be provided.

A Community Discussion: Mental Health & Addiction

Join the Waupaca Area Public Library for a Community Discussion: Mental Health & Addiction, in the lower level meeting rooms. The panel, including mental health, medical, educational and judicial professionals, will highlight issues, resources and the progress that’s been made on mental health and addiction in Waupaca. Those in attendance will also have a chance to ask questions. This program is free and open to the public.

Art & Emotion: Adult Art Workshop

Join us in meeting room B on Wednesday February 27tht from 6-8pm for an adult art workshop. Artist and art therapist Lois Johnson will help you learn a 3-step process using collage to manage emotions and provide the self-support & direction you need. This is a free class for adults and is limited to 20 participants. Light refreshments and all art materials will be provided. Register online or at the the library.

The Waupaca Area Public Library is celebrating local student art at the annual Youth Art Month exhibit. The exhibit showcases the artwork of Waupaca’s elementary, middle and high school students. 

Art teachers at each school chose artwork to be displayed and ranges from pencil drawings and paintings to ceramics and mobiles. Local judges select the top artwork at the show.

Youth Art Month (YAM) is observed each March across the country to emphasize the value of art and art education for all children and encourage public support for quality school art programs.

Youth Art Month is located in the Lower Exhibit Room at the Waupaca Public Library. The exhibit is free to the public and open during regular library hours.
