Circulation Assistant: Responsible for: assisting library patrons, operation of the circulation desk, operating circulation software, shelving library materials and general clerical functions in the library. This position includes work in both the adult department and in children's services. Experience working with children is preferred.
We are particularly looking for people who are interested in working evening and weekend hours, but daytime hours are likely as well. Circulation Assistants need to be being available to cover vacations, sick time, etc. Duties include assisting library patrons, checking materials in and out at the circulation desk, shelving, keeping order, enforcing the policies of the library, answering the phone, etc. This job will require repetitive movement, bending and lifting items that could be 50 lbs. or more. It is important that you are familiar and comfortable with helping patrons, computers, books and other materials. The starting pay is minimum wage.
Teen Assistant: Oversees and promotes activity in the Teen Room while assisting with Teen program planning. This position includes shelving library materials in all departments, too. 8-12 hours per week during the school year. After school and weekend hours. Please include a letter of reference with your application. Starting pay is minimum wage.
Library Page: Responsible for shelving and maintaining the order of the library’s materials.
